Male juvenile 6-8 months old. Flying.
Wood Ducks are beautifully ornate in appearance and charming in personality, making them a great choice for any waterfowl collector. They require a minimum of 8 inches to 1 foot of water. Unlike most ducks, these birds have very a strong grip, and enjoy perching on branches. They sleep on the water, but mostly eat on land. Their diet consists of game bird pellet, along with plenty of greens, and small insects.
Our ducks are not pinioned. Wing clippings are available at an additional $2.50 per bird, and the trimming can last for 4-6 months.
