Temminck Tragopan - Female
Yearling. No female photo available, only photos of males.
Temminck Tragopans were named after naturalist Coenraad Jacob Temminck. They are a gorgeous addition to any pheasant collection. The male is red and orange with white spots and a blue face. The females are brown or gray with white spots and smaller in size. Breeding season is usually March through June, and you can expect up to 6 eggs per clutch.
Temminck Tragopans prefer roosting in trees. Their diet consists of grass and greens, berries, shoots, fruit and a staple game bird pellet.
Our Tragopans are not pinioned. Clipped wings are available at an additional $2.50 per bird and the trimming can last four to six months.
